How to improve load speed in Magento? That’s tricky …

First, I analyzed current performances by two Mozilla extensions (PageSpeed, Yslow). Then, I began my searches.

Besides hosting that we have already optimized by choosing NBS Systems, I would like to share with your experience user and ask for recommendations (what tips works or don’t work).

• Gzip files

• Cleanup of all old files (logs, images, cancel orders etc.)

• PHP performance through Eacelerator (http://eaccelerator.net/)

• JavaScript & CSS Compression (http://www.magentocommerce.com/extension/457/fooman-speedster)

• Split on three different hosts: front office, back office, database (http://blog.stockho.com/blog/interets-de-la-separation-front-back-et-base-de-donnees-magento)

During first 2010 trimester, we are going to make strong evolution of our website:  Geek-Trend.com. And, we hope to share issues and discoveries to help e-entrepreneurs, all stakeholders of this great open-source solution that is Magento. Please feel free to comment & suggest.

Bargento 3 Overview

First of all, we can say that there were great people: Yoav Kutner (Magento CTO), Koby Oz (Magento Community Manager), Zuraski Zeev (CTO Zend if PH4 said something to you ) … Among others, I mean, because there were 350 people primarily interested in finding out more about Magento, the open-source solution in vogue.

The only certainty after day conference for those who still doubted: Magento is a reliable & efficient technical solution.
