Google will launch its own Operating System in 2010
After search engine, electronic mail, document editor and even web browser, Google announced on its official blog the creation of its own operating system, named Google Chrome Operating System.

Since its core web activity, Google wants to become strong in the offline market segment, and “re-think what operating systems should be”, by creating an OS focused on online activities.
The interface, which has been thought to be fast, simple and secure, will be “minimal to stay out of your way”, and most of the user experience takes place on the web. At the moment, Google mainly aims the netbook market, but should widen its offer to all kind of computers in the future.
” It should just work “
Google also insists on the fact that the Chrome OS project is really different from Android, its mobile OS, used on mobile platforms (such as mobile phones and nomad players).
The OS code will be open-sourced later this year, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010.
Google bets on the open source community, and already announces that the new operating system will use a “new windowing system on top of a Linux kernel. All web-based applications will automatically work”
Are you ready to leave Windows, Mac or Linux to get into Google Chrome OS adventure ?
